Proderna believes that quality is not just a production process but a belief and a way of life which is incorporated in all aspects of our company’s operations and inculcated in all employees.
High Performance Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC) is used to check the purity and content of non-volatile organic compounds and a Gas Chromatograph (GC)/ GCMS is used to analyse volatile organic compounds.
Instrumentation for routine quality checks such as appearance, moisture content, pH, physical properties, and consistency are also used.
Advantages Of SCFE V/S Conventional Process
Solvent
CONVENTIONAL PROCESS: Hexane and other similar solvents. S C F E: CO2.
Temperature Of Extraction/Distillation
CONVENTIONAL PROCESS: 100°C-120°C (Poor quality) loss of quality and of aromatics. S C F E: 30°C-70°C (good quality) no loss of aromatics.
Selectivity
CONVENTIONAL PROCESS: Poor. Extracts all soluble constituents S C F E: Excellent. Selective extraction through effective separation.
Solvent in Extract
CONVENTIONAL PROCESS: Around 300 ppm S C F E: Zero.
Environment
CONVENTIONAL PROCESS: Solvent in residue not desired, energy intense recycling of solvent S C F E: Environmentally safe.
